When my 16-year-old son shared his aspiration of becoming a commercial pilot—despite having never seen a Black pilot in the cockpit—it truly resonated with me! It was disheartening to learn that he felt his aspirations were unattainable due to his race, and I committed myself to support him in every way possible. Eager to support him, I began searching for programs, scholarships, and resources to help him achieve his goal. However, I found it challenging to locate these resources easily, which made me realize that other parents and students were likely facing the same difficulties. This realization led me to establish (AIRBY) Aviation Information and Resources For Black Youth, aimed at simplifying the process for everyone seeking aviation career resources. Fast forward to the present, my son is now 24 years old and a commercial pilot, actively accumulating flight hours to secure a position with the airlines!

For the past four years, My son and I have dedicated ourselves to helping aspiring aviators nationwide pursue their dreams. I am passionate about creating an engaging space for K-12 students to explore the exciting world of aviation careers! This includes mentorship, workshops, and numerous scholarships! My son and I are actively volunteering our time, and we are eager to connect with even more enthusiastic future aviators.
