MY INSPIRATION
I established Aviation Information and Resources For Black Youth after my son, at 16, expressed his dream of becoming a commercial pilot, despite never having seen a Black pilot. It broke my heart to realize he felt his aspirations were unattainable due to his race, and I promised to support him in every way possible.
At 17 he took his first flight, and by 19, he earned his Private Pilot license through the Tuskegee NEXT program. Now, at 24, he is a commercial pilot, working diligently to accumulate flight hours for a position in the airlines. His achievements, fueled by hard work and determination, have inspired me to help other young Black individuals pursuing aviation careers. I understand the challenges and discouragement that can arise when starting this journey, but I am committed to sharing valuable aviation resources and programs with you.
Please remember, there is always a path to success, and I hope to help guide you along the way.
